The End

Now I am mostly caught up on all those I will give you my photos in my monthly faves posts under my favourite photos of the month.

Which was your favourite?

Christmas is coming and It's the most wonderful time of the year!!!!!

You may be thinking "what....it's not Christmas yet and it's only November". But I think that it is just the right time to start thinking about it.
I think that it is the most wonderful time of the year, better even than my birthday!

I am having no trouble in getting into the Christmas mood.
I just love it so much!!
This post is just an excuse to show you all the pretty, glittery, Christmassy, pictures I found on Pinterest!

With Christmas around the corner everybody will start bustling around getting ready. I have started decorating(post coming about that) and making Christmas gifts. I always make my Christmas presents because it's easier. I don't have any money to use so I am really making them on a tight budget. I kind of spent all my money on books!
It's actually quite hard to think of ideas to make so I'll share a few ones that hopefully will spark some creativity in you if you are thinking of making some gifts.

1. A coupon booklet. Compile a booklet of little 'coupons' that the person receiving it can use. For example, if you are giving one to your mum, some of the coupons might say: this coupon entitles you to 1 breakfast in bed. Just all things that you are willing to do for with that person.
2. Wall art. Print out anything from a photo to a quote in a pretty font. Frame it and it can be a meaningful gift. Photos are always special. If you are a talented artist you can paint or draw something too.
3. Anything with photos. Absolutely anything!
4. Gift baskets. Pick a theme. And fill a basket/some sort of container with things corresponding with your theme. Examples: Pampering basket, movies night basket, foodie basket, ice cream sundae kit basket or a craft supplies basket.

When a new season rolls around I have to get all the things that go with that season. Like yesterday, I really craved some candy canes. But they didn't have any in the shop yet so I settled for some Candy Cane Hershey Kisses. They are yummy!

I will be taking some photos of my room in all it's Christmas-ness and posting them soon.

Anyway, I wanted to talk about what my family does at Christmas time.
My grandparents on my mother's side are Swiss so we do most of our celebrating on Christmas Eve. Leading up to this day we bake cookies, make presents, listen to Christmas carols, wrap presents, decorate, make more food and get excited!
On the day we arrange the presents under the tree. My grandparents, Nonna (Italian for grandmother) and Grandad, and my Mother's sister Viv and her family and my Mother's brother all come over. We used to have it at Nonna's house but now it's easier to have it at our house. Most of my memories of Christmas are at their house, with her knitted nativity scene, lots of treats and sitting in their nice garden on Christmas Day, still eating!

On Christmas Eve, we gather around the table and eat a delicious dinner. What follows is usually sitting in the lounge where the tree is, singing carols and reading the Christmas story from the Bible, and finally opening and giving the presents.
When I was little, the singing and reading seemed to take forever as I anticipated finding out what was concealed by all the pretty red and green paper.

On a more serious note, this Christmas I wanted to try and keep Christ at the centre of everything.
I saw this on Pinterest and it gave me an idea.

Candy canes are quite cheap so we're going to buy some and tie tags on them that say something similar to the above. Then we'll drop them into the letterboxes on our street.

This is only the beginning of my Christmassy posts so there will be plenty more soon.
I hope this wasn't too boring for you. I feel like I rambled on a bit.

October ~ What happened, Favourites + November goals

Via StockSnap
So sorry that there is no nice graphic header thing. The graphic editor program I use was playing up so I couldn't do it.

This is cropped.

I tried to make it look a bit creepy. ;)

My friend, Melissa, and I.

\\ October Highlights \\

  • I finished my photography assignment and got 8/10. I am pretty happy with that because is was a hard assignment.
  • Attended a youth retreat.
  • The school holidays have been and gone.
  • I made my first roast chicken dinner and it turned out great.
  • I moved into a new bedroom and I have it all to myself!
  • We went to a book sale and now I have no room for anymore books, unless I put them on the floor.

// Completed Goals //

  • I didn't waste time in the holidays. I was always busy especially at the retreat.
  • Planted a few things in the garden

Sadly that was all that I completed for my October goals but hopefully I will be better next month.

My November goals are:

  • Start making Christmas presents
  • Practise a few carols on guitar to play at Christmas
  • Learn 3 new songs on guitar
  • Finish reading the book of Mark
  • Write to my pen pals

Favourites
This month I will share my favourite songs.

Tis so Sweet - Jadon Lavik
I found this guy on Spotify and really like his style.
Lord, I Need You - Chris Tomlin
This song is so true!
You are My All in All - not any one in particular
There is a version by Brooke Griffith which I really like.
Give Me Jesus - Fernando Ortega
Great song!

I listen to these on Spotify so if you don't have it you might not be able to find them. Some of them might be on Youtube though.

So that was October. The 10th month of 2017. 2017 is slipping away fast. Don't waste it.

This Beautiful Fantastic movie review (with Spoilers)

I watched this movie recently and LOVED  it.
This post with be me rambling on about this movie and a LOT of pictures. *smiles*

'This Beautiful Fantastic' is about a rather odd, single young lady named Bella Brown who wants to write a book and is scared of plants, who finds love, overcomes her fear (of plants)  and befriends a grumpy but kind old man.
I love the fact that Jessica Brown Findlay plays Bella Brown. I had only ever seen her as the lovely Lady Sybil Crawley in the amazing Downton Abbey series.
(How pretty is this picture of Sybil!)

Bella Brown's neighbour Mr Stevenson is upset that she has neglected the garden. He makes a complaint and an inspector arrives and tells her she has a month to tidy it up.

As their friendship blossoms, Mt Stevenson helps her out in fixing the garden.

She begins hating gardening and ends up loving it. Alfie Stevenson is the type of person who is grumpy on the outside but inside there is a kind heart. I really like that about him. When he shows Bella his garden it is magical. Colour blooms everywhere, and he names them all as they walk though this forest of flowers.

Bella Brown is a very odd person and she keeps everything very perfect and organised. Bella's job is at the library which suits her because she has loved books since she was a girl.
It is at the library she meets Billy. Billy is a designer and comes in to the library to work on ideas and gain inspiration from other designers books.

Jeremy Irvine plays Billy. He is a very cute character and I like him a lot. Jeremy played Albert in the 'War Horse' too. Though he was quite young in the 'War Horse' he acted amazingly well.
I love this scene where they meet by accident in the park.

They suit each other because they're both a bit odd in their own way.

Billy shows Bella (Billy and Bella isn't that cute!) is mechanical creations.

                                                          Luna, the mechanical bird

Billy asks her to tell him a story about Luna and that is where she gets her inspiration for her children's book. Luna's name comes form the fact that she is powered by light even moonlight, hence Luna!
I also love this part. As she thinks up the story in her head.

Now I have to talk about the Irishman Vernon for a moment. He is so funny but very caring and you feel sorry for him because he is a widower dad looking after his twin girls.

Vernon works as Alfie Stevenson's cook at first and then he becomes Bella's cook.

Vernon still cooks meals for Mr Stevenson and passes the meals through a 'window' in the garden shed between the neighbours.

One of my favourite parts is when Billy comes to see Bella because she hasn't been at the library for a while. She thought she had seen him with another girl and was upset but Billy explains that that was his identical brother as he is the oldest of triplets. Billy wasn't able to meet her because he had had an accident and wound up in hospital.

Bella completes her garden project and since it was Alfie who called the inspector he tells him to leave Bella alone now.
The Luna story idea develops into the story for her children's book which is named 'This Beautiful Fantastic' .
Before she publishes it however, Mr Stevenson unfortunately passes away. Alfie Stevenson leaves his house to Vernon and his girls.

Here everyone is happy, sitting in Bella's garden, listening to her reading her book aloud.
Overall this is a very warm and charming story and I definitely recommend the movie.

What did you think of this movie if you have watched it?
