movie soundtracks I listen to repeatedly

Via Pinterest
I have been meaning to write this post for a while now, especially since I've seen a couple of other bloggers do it.
If I enjoyed a movie, one of the first things I'll do after seeing it, is listen to the soundtrack. But not all movie soundtracks are equal in my eyes (or rather, ears!) and these ones that I am about to share with you are the few that stood out and that I still return to.

(In no particular order)

How to Train Your Dragon 1&2
I really, really love these tracks! They have that adventure-in-the-air vibe and have that great Scottish/Viking flair. This is Berk is a favourite track from the first album. Music like this helps those not so interesting school assignments feel just that little bit more exciting too!

Poldark
I am greatly anticipating the next season of Poldark, but at least I have the soundtrack (and the first book which I hope to read soon) to tie me over until then!
This music makes me want to escape to the cliffs of Cornwall on a dashing black horse and watch the sea crashing below.

The Tourist
First off, if you haven't seen this film I suggest that you do as it is quite entertaining and mysterious!
Second, the music is amazing and fits the European-action movie plot perfectly. The whole film is cleverly done too.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
I surprised myself with how much I love these movies! And the soundtrack is really cool, so that helps! I enjoy listening to this sometimes when I am doing my school.
The whole action-packed vibe of the music is very motivating!

The Man from U.N.C.L.E
This soundtrack is cool, okay! It has a really cool sound and vibe to it. For weeks after I saw it for the first time, it was the only thing I listened to! I mean, just hear this track....great isn't it?

These are all of the main ones I could think of but I also have some honourable mentions.
This Beautiful Fantastic, The Light Between Oceans, Downton Abbey, Sense and Sensibility, Belle, The Lord of the Rings

What is your favourite movie soundtrack to listen to?
Does music help you concentrate better?

Movie Recommendations

Well, hello lovely folks!
Since I didn't manage to write and post a January Favourites, I have not talked about any of the movies I have seen so far this year. I have seen some pretty great ones though, and I am excited to share them with you today!

Priceless {2016}
Oh my! This year was the first time I became fully aware of the seriousness and reality of slavery, human trafficking and those such things. On February 7th, I took part in the End It Movement on Shine A Light on Slavery Day. (Info @enditmovement on Instagram)
Not long after that, my family watched this film. It covers the topic very well and from a great perspective. In a way it is a rather beautiful story, but it is full of hurt and brokenness.
Basically, it is about a guy named James who takes a job transporting a mystery cargo. When he realizes that he is actually delivering two young women to men running a sex trafficking business, he desperately tries to save them and get them back.
I highly recommend this movie!

Gosnell: The Trial of America's Biggest Serial Killer {2018}
This is another movie covering another big topic that is often hushed up. Though it may be an emotional watch for some, it is impacting and important to watch in this day and age.
I struggle to actually have any words  to describe it, since all it really is is pure evil.
So I just encourage you to watch it and then spread the word. Also, I think I should mention, that nothing is graphically shown but things are talked about and implied. In one of the court scenes, the lawyer shows the jury a photo of a baby that was aborted and still alive, and if you want to see the photo they give a link to their website at the end of the film.

God's Not Dead: A Light in the Darkness {2018}
Well, this list isn't very light hearted! Here we have another movie which is very relavent to what goes on around us today.
I very much enjoyed the first two films of this kind and wasn't as impressed with this on but it was still a good watch!

I feel weird adding this last one on the list as it is comic period drama but this post won't be very long without it and it is nice to end on a semi-positive note so here goes!

The Importance of Being Earnest {2002}
The Importance of Being Earnest is one of those witty, period dramas that is enjoyable for the whole family. It was entertaining, fairly decent and with  Colin Firth and Judi Dench added to the mix,
was quite good.

Thus concludes a few of the movies I can recommend that I have recently seen.
Qotd: Which one of these movies interests you?

She is called Daughter

She stood there. Watching. Waiting and dreaming.
Watching the wind toss the branches of the trees. Waiting in the stillness. And dreaming of things still to come.
She adored the sweet solace she found on that quiet hill.
How the dainty flowers that grew there, bobbing back and forth in the breeze.
For many years she had come here and always to escape the crowd. How they pushed and pulled her; it filled her head with fog.
So she came to the quiet hill that felt closer to the sky, to have heavenly conversations with the Father of her heart.
Sometimes she would just sit and think.
Other times she might sing. Often she would pick armfuls of blossoms. But always she knew whose watchful eye was over her and she'd smile at the thought.

It was while she was standing there dreaming, that when the breezes stilled, she heard the grasses rustling at her side.
She saw a figure approaching, though she knew not who it was.
He came right beside her and looked her in the eye. But she was not afraid, for he whispered to her, "Daughter".
It was him, her dear Jesus. He had Compassion in his eyes. Peace written on his face and many other beautiful and heartfelt things that made her love Him more but most important of them all was the love that made holes in His hands.
She took His hands in her own and smiled up at him.
They sat and talked for hours about all the troubles and joys of life.
"And about your dreams," He said, "keep them stored in the depths of your heart. For when the time is right my love, I will cause them to take place.
If they are not to be, then you must let it be so. I will always be there next to you, and that is what you must know."
Then He rose to leave and embraced her in His arms. Jesus walked back through the flowers from where He came before.
She watched and saw two pathways, that were imprinted in the grass.
One was hers and one was His.
Side by side, forevermore.
