My Top 5 Christian Worship Songs

I am always listening to music, trying to find new songs, replaying my favourites and learning all the words.
Anyway, I hope that you'll enjoy this post and maybe find some new songs or find that we like the same music!

In no particular order...

1. My Feet Are on the Rock by I AM THEY

I really love this song because it's upbeat, fun, defiant(that we will cling to Christ), and uplifting. The lyrics are great! Just listen...
I love the bridge too (On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand)!
It is just a cool song!

2. Here I Am to Worship

Here I Am to Worship is a great song to use as a prayer! We used to sing it a lot at our other church before we moved. I learnt a simple version on piano recently as well.
I love it partly because of the memory I have with it.

3. One Thing Remains/ How He Loves Mashup by Caleb + Kelsey

I like both songs on their own but I discovered them through this mashup. Caleb and Kelsey make some pretty awesome mashups, as do Anthem Lights. Caleb is part of Anthem Lights acapella group. Both song really emphasise God's love for us, which I love!

4. Clean by Natalie Grant

An amazing song here! I heard it once before and sort of 'dismissed' it. Then my mum brought it up the other day and I loved it. I can't describe it other than saying it's amazing.

5. You are my All in All by Tommee Profitt and Brooke Griffith

I was in tears when I sang this one day! It's a classic Christian song that I'm sure most of you know. I sang it a lot at a youth conference and now it's become a favourite because it also holds memories for me. Other than that you can't help but love the words!

What's your favourite worship song? Have you heard of any of these?

April Favourites

4/12 of 2018 is gone. April for half the world is springtime and for the other half (which includes where I live), it is Autumn. Autumn is my second favourite season, next to Summer. I love almost every little thing about it.
Here we go!

Books

The Cherished Quilt By Amy Clipston
I'll just leave my review here!

The Pursuit of God by A.W. Tozer
I have just started it and it's great. A must read for every Christian.

Fashionably Worn by Leigh-Ann Pow
This is a really cool book for if you are interested in thrift shopping, vintage items and such things.

Music

Moonlight Serenade & A String of Pearls by Glenn Miller ~ These two have such a wonderful sound. I have listened to them a lot this month. Jazzy, soft, beautiful and classic!

One Thing Remains ~ I just really liked this song and its lyrics.

Movies

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society {2018}
I'm sure I don't have to tell you how wonderful this story is! Many of you, I 'm sure, have read the book, whereas I am only just starting to read this book. I was aiming to read it before I watched the movie but The Cherished Quilt got in the way. I really enjoyed the movie and seeing quite a few Downton Abbey star acting together again.

Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Future Me {2014}
I really love every single episode/movie of this series but is one was somethin' special! It involves two beautiful and sweet special needs characters. How can you not love a story with such special souls as them?

Thrift Haul of the Month

How was your April? What's one goal you have for May?

7 Days, 7 Ways with Scarves

So a new series begins! I mention in my March Favourites that I found a book about wearing scarves. I decided to try out some of the ways the book suggests and share my favourites with you along with a few other ways I like to add a scarf to my outfits.
This is the first of a series called 7 Days, 7 Ways were I take a piece(scarf, hair bow, hat) and show you 7 ways to wear it. I hope you like it!
While I was working on this post, I got my braces out so that is why they are in some pictures and not in others! Photo Credit: My lovely Mummy!

The Infinity ~ Day 1

This is a super simple scarf style and I'm sure most of you already know it and wear it. Still, I think it's the simplest things that can be most effective. In this outfit (jeans, top, cardigan), the scarf is the centrepiece. It is the only pop of colour and elevates the outfit.

The Audrey ~ Day 2

I love this style. I was happy with how this whole outfit turned out and the scarf just made it better. I ended up with quite a Frenchy chic style going on, and I loved it. With my favourite pencil skirt, a simple polka dot t-shirt, a skinny belt, and those cute 'vintage' earrings from my mini thrift haul, I was very pleased with the combo. I also seem to have a few navy blue clothing items in my wardrobe!

The Cummerbund ~ Day 3

This is such a cool idea. It makes perfect sense too. Use a long scarf as a belt to add some colour to a simple dress. I also love this blue dress because it goes with lots of things. Wearing the scarf around your waist is quite comfortable too, more comfortable than a belt. I will be doing this a lot more in the future.

The Paris ~ Day 4

I absolutely love this scarf look, and this scarf which is pure silk and I thrifted it! Silk scarves are the best! It's so soft, comfy and warm too. (Notice my shoes? I love them too. Very vintage inspired!) Back to the scarf and outfit. Lately, I have been lazy and just wearing jeans because the weather is cooler now. I did wear a grey cardigan with this outfit but took it off later in the day. You will definitely be seeing me wear this scarf (and this scarf look) many more times in the future!

The New York ~ Day 5

A nice cozy look for autumn & winter. This scarf is very soft and warm, perfect for the colder months. I took these pictures with a tripod. My aunt gave me this scarf for my birthday a few years ago. This scarf look is very easy to do and you get a nice bit of warmth around your neck. For the best results use and big square scarf for the best poofyness!

The Professor ~ Day 6

Ahhh, how I do love this scarf! The Professor is meant to be worn when you have a collared shirt but I decided not to wear one that day. My outfit was mostly thrifted, my jeans, the jersey and the star of the show, the silk scarf. get a good silk scarf and you will not regret it.
The leaves are slowly changing colour in the background and my 2nd favourite season is underway.
I always make sure that my outfits are comfy as well as stylish and this one fit the bill.

The Knotted Choker ~ Day 7

This method of scarf tying wasn't from the book but I included it anyway because it's a very versatile look. I have worn this peach coloured scarf with a few outfits tied in this way.
All you need a long, thinner scarf. Wrap it around your neck and tie it up in the front.
I didn't actually wear this outfit for the whole day because as soon as I stepped outside I realised it was really too chilly to wear this summery dress!

In case you were wondering I used the word 'scarf/scarves' a total of 24 times! Beat that!
I hope you enjoyed this post as much I did putting it together.
P.S Hopefully my Monday Friday shedule will be restored back to order!

The Cherished Quilt Book Review

The book review of the month is.....The Cherished Quilt by Amy Clipston!
It is much the same as the previous two books in the Amish Heirloom series in that it gives you the same warm, fuzzy feelings.
I only have one more book to go and it will be so bittersweet to read it! So, for now, I 'll get on with this review.
Note: Sorry my posts have been a bit all over the place. My schedule will be restored asap!

Back Cover Synopsis (from the book)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Emily Fisher is eager to meet the new employee at her father's shop in Bird-in-Hand, Pennsylvania. But when Christopher Hostettler arrives, his cold demeanour freezes her attempts at building a friendship.
Longing for a fresh start, Christopher travels from Ohio to Bird-in-Hand. Christopher's heart is still wounded from memories of home, and making new friends is the last thing on his mind--he knows that pain that comes with losing those you love. When Emily is kind to him, he tries to remain distant, but he soon finds himself stealing glances at her throughout the day.
When Christopher shares his tragic reasons for leaving home, Emily decides to make a quilt for him as a gesture of their friendship. The two are quickly falling in love when a family emergency calls Christopher back to Ohio without warning.
Emily finishes the quilt, in spite of her pain. But when Christopher receives it, will he have the courage to follow his heart?

Emily as a person. She's so caring and sweet, always putting others before her self and trying to do kind things for them. ♥
Chris and Emily's conversations were so heartfelt and real. Chris blames himself for his brothers' death and hasn't forgiven himself since. Emily's kind and wise words help him with his nightmares and encourages him to make things right with his family.
The Fisher family and extended family in this book were really cool. Seeing Veronica and Rachel on their paths in life in this book was so cool. I won't spoil anything but they both announce some pretty exciting news.
Too sweet! It was all so sweet and lovely! If you want a happy, light read, read one of these books!
All of it really!

I shouldn't even bother adding this section since there was nothing wrong with it at all!

What do you think? Have you already read it or have I convinced you? You must read the series in order though!

Best Dressed : Alicia Vikander

This is a new series on my blog where I will show you some of my favourite looks from actresses I love to watch. Today I am focusing on Alicia Vikander. She was made for period drama roles. Some people just really fit in period movies. The 'rules' are that I have to like what the person wears, there has to plus a minimum of 6 outfits that I like, and they have to be modest, and something that I would possibly wear. I someone outfit fits these rules then I 'll include it here in a post like this one.

No. 1
The first look is the one above. Black and white always look classy. I like this outfit because of the top mostly. I think it's so cute! Lace detail, a little frill, 3/4 length sleeves, it's so pretty. The skirt is really classy and simple. It's also a modest length. I not a huge fan of the bag but it's nice. Her shoes are quite nice though, I like the little buckle they have.
Overall, I would love to wear this outfit.

No.2
I am a big fan of floral prints and patterns so I added this dress to my picks. I think the style and cut of this piece are very pretty and feminine. The ruffle at the waist adds a nice touch and the length is beautiful. I love it.

No.3
I really like the colour pink right now, especially light pinks and blush pinks. I would totally wear this dress. It's gorgeous! The sleeves are beautiful, the details add a girly touch and the length is nice and modest. I adore everything about this piece. It looks like the kind of dress that flows and swishes nicely too.

No.4
Casual but still classic. Her coat is what made me look again. I would love to get a long winter coat similar to this only with a more vintage style. You can't see much of the rest of her outfit but it appears she's wearing a red top and a knee-length black skirt. I like the pop of red. Red is an amazing colour. I don't like her shoes because I don't like pointed toe shoes. I would probably wear some boots with this outfit.

No.5
Alicia looks gorgeous and a little like Belle in this stunning dress. I don't like strapless anything, but the rest of this dress is beautiful. Add some sleeves of a bolero and it's perfect. Yellow is such a pretty, happy colour. I always thought that dresses with a hem like this looked like a pillow(all poofy and billowed out) and I imagined that they are full of air.

No.6
Simplicity is best sometimes. A plain coloured pair of pants, a cute shirt, and some gold jewellery is all you need one some days. This is something I imagine my Mom wearing and looking good in. I am a bit picky about shirts and I like them to fit perfectly. I hate them if they're baggy, or the sleeves are too long and loose. The colours in this outfit are really nice too.

So, what did you think? Which is your favourite?
