Mini Stories

Felt like posting today....enjoy!

Story 1
Her smile reached from ear to ear. Her heart was overflowing. That's because Jesus was in it. Tiny hands clapped. Little voices sung sweet words and Jesus heard them. She wept tears of joy. Jesus saw them. In that small town, with no running water, she had found love. Love that only Jesus could give. And she gave love back. She gave Jesus' love to the little children.

Story 2
Anne's sapphire eyes flicked over the room. Bursts of green greeted her in every nook and cranny. Cacti, tufts of peppermint, fiddle leaf fig, dainty succulents in old teacups, and aloes on the windowsill.  A string of yellow bunting adorned the window frame. Granny Anita's favourite colour was yellow. Through the window, Anne could see Granny Anita was vigorously weeding around her beloved flower garden. Anne stepped out onto the back porch. Anita looked up and gave Anne the sunniest, widest, brightest smile, Anne had ever seen.

Story 3
The best part of Erin's day was when she could sit and contemplate life's big questions. This only happened when the sun was dropping off to sleep. Erin didn't mind. The golden glow from the sun warmed her face as she closed her eyes on delight. Her grandad had always told her to take a moment each day to soak up the sun and breathe in deeply. Grandaddy had loved life. But he had loved his Saviour more, and so he had had a small smile on his weathered face as he breathed his last. "I love you Grandaddy" Erin whispered and gulped down the last of her tea.

Story 4
Kenna found herself enveloped in the arms of her 4 bestest friends in the whole wide world. Audrey, Millie, Victoria and Rachelle had always been there for her, right from the start. "We are going to have the best, most awesome time ever" Millie exclaimed amongst all the giggles. "Yes, we'll swim in the river, hike through the trees, ride all the way down Flowering Road and devour loads of Aunt Hilly's ice cream" decided Rachelle. "Just as long as we do it together, I don't mind a bit" Kenna smiled and hugged them all again.

Story 5
"And that's your grandad and me on our first date together" Grandmother pointed at the yellowed photograph. She was showing me her photo album like she did every time I came over.
Underneath the photograph in swirly cursive handwriting said 'Judith & Harvey Wright 1941'. I peered at the photograph closely. Her grandparents looked very young and in love.
"I should tell her now," thought Lilly.  "Gran, there's something I want to tell you....I...well...I'm in a courtship, with David Henderson." Lilly studied her grandmother's face. "Lilly, you have just made my day. I have been hoping and praying for you and He has answered. David is an honourable man dear and I could not be happier for you".

Which do you like best? Story 1 is my favourite.

  3. I really liked 4 and 5!
But I have to say, my favorite is number 3. I lost my grandfather and it was hard. But he loved his Savior, so I know I'll see him again.
